The third flagship store of the MEUNIER brand, located in Shenzhen’s Houhai Harbour, features a striking colour scheme and futuristic art. The entrance hall of the MEUNIER store displays an art installation series called "The Essence of Time", featuring a Foucault pendulum. The pendulum, which is a timing hourglass, swings back and forth in an arc. The sand in the hourglass falls with the swinging motion, presenting an elliptical shape with periodic changes. In the interior space, an annular rain stick hangs over a green sand pool. As the rain stick rotates and swings, sounds resembling water flows are continuously produced. The white walls and ceilings surrounding the sand pool and rain stick create a visual contrast and auditory impact.
Design highlights
The materials and lighting used in the entrance area and surrounding treatment rooms are carefully chosen to match their respective functions. While the communal areas feature integrated lighting and white space, private areas have a more intimate lighting scheme.
