Project: Google Marketing Live 2023
Location: California, United States
Award: Individual Project Interiors: Temporary & Experiential Projects, Bronze, 2023
Design Practice: Rapt Studio
Client: Google
Google Marketing Live is an annual event aimed at showcasing Google Ads and Google Commerce solutions to advertising and marketing executives. Rapt Studio’s design for the event took guests on a carefully choreographed journey including presentations, interactive demos, roundtable discussions and a musical performance, all sited in unique locations across Google’s Bay View campus. Each required a unique social and spatial setting.
The design strategy was to differentiate individual moments while ensuring they worked together. It integrated two aspects of Google which have until now remained separate: the graphic design of digital content and the architecture and landscape design of the campus.
Design highlights
The designers adapted the key figure of the digital content — the circle — into a range of applications at varying scales in the physical environment. Key motifs of the architecture and landscape design of the campus were extended into the smaller, more human scale of information design. Rapt Studio conceived the design as a narrative environment, putting Google’s content and messaging at the centre of the user experience.
