Architects are thinking flat-white for a cafe and restaurant design.
The pared-down palatte includes clean lines, white walls and an uncluttered feel for the 200 square metre Kale and Crave Restaurant in Stockholm, Sweden.
Designer Matteo Foresti said: “In the center of Stockholm, behind a couple of large arches, an old space organized on four floors was completely reimagined.
“Existing walls, floors and stairs were torn down to expose the space and quality of the building, which is characterized by thick walls and defined geometries.”
Sharp lines redefine all the horizontal and vertical connections and create new hierarchies. A generous foyer welcomes clients to the restaurant.
This double-height space is dominated by stairs while a vault connects the street to the counter, upper floor, kitchen and lower floors.
Upper-floor tables overlook a foyer and offer views of the street through a semi-circular window. Downstairs leads to a courtyard and kitchen while soft color and oak furniture defines the cellar.
