The Super Sciences Building will deliver world-class teaching, research and collaboration facilities including highly interactive teaching SuperLabs, a large learning hub, an analytical and large characterisation equipment hub, research laboratories and workspace for technical staff and Higher Degree Research students (e.g. PhD and masters).
With approximately 20,000sqm of area, the Super Sciences Building will play a key role in meeting Curtin University’s objective to expand its research and education programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM).
In addition to creating a superior student experience, the facility will cultivate a highly visible and active science precinct and community, equipped to produce world-class outcomes and evolve with the rapidly transforming nature of learning, teaching, research and industry engagement.
Curtin University is seeking to appoint a team of consultants who can deliver an innovative design solution to provide future flexibility in the building to accommodate changing needs in teaching pedagogy and equipment requirements. A holistic building design approach is required from a structural, services distribution, layout arrangement, technology and sustainability perspective to address this future flexibility requirement.
This Expression of Interest is seeking to identify appropriate lead design consultancy services for the project. To qualify for consideration, suitable consultants will be required to demonstrate technical expertise in the design and specification of teaching superlabs, research laboratories and core research infrastructure facilities.
Recognised design quality outputs and expertise in global best practice environmentally sustainable design will be favourably considered; consultants may be stand-alone or in partnership with other consultants to meet the criteria.
