Named after Mikhail Lomonosov, the new campus of Moscow State University will become the all-Russian center of research and education.
Starting with the construction of the Intellectual Center - the Lomonosov and Shuvalov academic buildings - the university is expanding its territory through a large-scale development.
The campus will create a new city center with unique facilities for science and technology and will create a layout of visual conncections to the surrounding areas, developing the historical urban axis and providing connectivity for pedestrians and transport. The project's vision is to creat a well-developed network of landscaped areas connecting the Vorobyovy Gory Natural Reserve, the Moskva River embankments and the Park named after the 50th Anniversary of October.
Fully integrating into urban fabric, the campus will create a harmony through combining the buildings and public spaces. Comfortable public spaces have been accommodated for as the campus and residential quarter frame the axis. The convenience of this is for everyday life, not just for scientific research or training.
The project falls in line with the city's overall development strategy aimed at improving transportation links, creating new public spaces, whilst growing economically.
