More than 60 of the world’s leading architects, engineers and consultants are being recruited to review, consider and judge the work of the awards entrants. The judges will be split into specialist panels with each panel focusing on a number of relevant categories.
Lynda Relph-Knight is an independent design writer, curator and consultant. A journalist by background, she was editor of Design Week for more than 20 years and has an overview of design in the commercial and public sectors.
“I am really looking forward to overseeing the judging of the 2019 WIN Awards. As chair, I’ll be steering the judges towards interiors that are spot on for people who inhabit them and true to the brand they represent. We’ll be looking for fresh ideas, great use of materials and an intelligent approach to sustainability,” said Relph-Knight.
James Mair worked for some years as an interior architect before becoming more and more interested in contemporary furniture. This interest led him to set up Viaduct Furniture Ltd in 1985 - a business that has been in its current Clerkenwell location for the last twenty five years and thoroughly enjoys playing its part in the contemporary furniture world.
Chairing the Product categories for the WIN Awards, Mair said "I’m really looking forward to seeing the variety of this years entries. A winning entry would demonstrate originality, confidence, quality of design and detailing."
The first round of judging will take place online over a three-week period following the entry deadline. Shortlisted entries will be identified from this judging session and those entries will progress to the final judging round which will take place at WIN WAN Live, in London on 24th October.
Throughout the day judges will come together to discuss and debate the work and attendees will be able to observe the judging while it is taking place.
(Please note: although the judging is taking place at the event, shortlisted entrants will not be required to present to the judges.)
Winners will be decided on the day and awards will be presented throughout the event.
