2019 WIN Awards Entry: The Park - Kris Lin International Design

The Park - Kris Lin International Design is an entry in the Experimental Design category at the 2019 World Interiors News Awards.

by Jessica Evans 22 May 2019 2019

Integrating the charm of oriental garden and elements of garden, Kris Lin create a living space with harmony between human and nature.

Being close to the two landmark parks North Sichuan Road Park and Hailun Park, the advantage of location is very rare in downtown areas. Kris Lin International Desgin applied the concept of the park in hopes to let people feel like they are wandering in the park - even when in the interior space.

The implant park concept in the indoor space has, not only the oriental conception of bridge and flowing water, but also the harmony of human and nature. The destination to seek leisure, tranquility and poetic charm is deep in its heart.

Originally, there were many small shops on the second floor, however these were turned into an open interior garden. Through ingenious design, Kris Lin made the interior space into a surrounding moving line design like a park, making people feel as if they are walking in the park whenever they wander in the interior space.

Kris Lin moved the exterior garden into interior space and created an oriental garden space with elements like a bridge, flowing water and a waterfall - the most challenging being the construction of the water pond in the interior space.
