Design studio Idean work with a collaborative approach, regularly hosting events and workshops for clientele around the globe and needed a design that was flexible in terms of work, social and event space.
Key features of the free-flowing concept included colour and materials which were used to distinguish each space. The first floor is light bright with a neon-signposted reception. Central to the space, the reception desk is made of terrazzo tiles with a blue laminate top, combined with a red bar and work table to add to develop a sense of community.
To the right of the reception, a communal kitchen, dining room and meeting area was designed to be an informal space. The meeting and dining area includes bar seating, natural wood workbench-style tables and benches.
The navy laminate kitchen was decorated with a Smile Plastics monochrome worktop with an island in graphic grid tiling. Hanging from bespoke gantry units, plants add life and relaxation to the environment. Also incorporated into the spatial design are two small meeting rooms, a boardroom, a project room and a break area, located to the left of reception.
The boardroom features a more natural design through its wooden Scandinavian-style furnishings and the natural light that submerges the room. To complement the natural design, the colour of the bold blue floor extends up the walls.
Contrasting the boardroom, the project room uses soft decorative lighting to accompany the fresh coral pink hues. The chairs and tables are mobile and can adjust to the needs of projects and clients. Meanwhile, the two more casual meeting rooms contribute to the zoned areas of colour of the interior design, with one meeting room being a tonal blue and the other being a tonal pink room.
