The Polish ‘Henry Arctowski’ Antarctic Station - Kurylowicz & Associates is an entry in the Future Project - Mixed Use category.  The project of the new main building of 'Henry Arctowski' antartic station is to be located on Admiralty Bay, on the southern part of the island of King George in the South Shetland Archipelago, about 120 km from the Antarctic coast. The design of the station is shaped by a detailed functional program, the extreme environmental conditions of the site and by a modular construction strategy which has been imposed by site access restrictions.

Strategy masterplan of urban transition of Turkistan City - FrameArt + Urban Sustain Architecture is an entry in the Future Project - Mixed Use category. Transoxiana region, where Turkistan city lays, for centuries was one of the most densely-urbanized areas of Central Asia, incorporating the Silk Road, international trade and culture exchange corridor. The strategy has a mega-goal to explore arise and decline of this ancient urban civilization in order to understand circularity of urban issues, it consequences and interrelations with modern society.

Desert Oasis Altaif - Ministry of Housing is an entry in the Future Project - Mixed Use category at the 2019 World Architecture News Awards. The Taif Master Plan has been crafted along the Wadi corridors and Natural Rocky Park reserves and the design incorporates these natural features into the Open Space and Amenities network throughout the site.

Leith Place, Tokoroa - DCA Architects of Transformation is an entry in the Future Project - Mixed Use category. Tokoroa is a small town located centrally in New Zealand. Tokoroa was once a thriving industry town with over 20,000 population during the 70’s. However, population migration to larger centres resulted in decline. Tokoroa is located on State Highway 1, the connecting arterial route between NZ's the largest cities: Auckland and Wellington. Over 20,000 motorists pass through Tokoroa daily. An economic report stated that stopping 1% of motorists would result in an economic benefit to Tokoroa of $1.3M per annum.

The World Architecture News Awards showcase the best international design in both current and future projects. Entries for the 2019 Awards are now open - for further information and to submit your entry please click here.
