Nature is an essential part of the Scandinavian living. Nature grounds us. We go into nature to find our inner self. At Njordrum we therefor believe in the impact of creating architecture, that connects nature and building.
Njordrum create houses focusing on architecture and not size. We are inspired by the Scandinavian values and know, that when you have a light, well planned space and a strong relation between interior and exterior, the amount of square meter is no longer essential to whether the house feels big or small.
THE CONCEPT
The concept is based on modules on each 45m2 that are designed to connect individually. In the personal process of connecting these modules, the exterior and landscape will add value by bringing nature and architecture together.
DESIGN
Aesthetics is the sum of the right details. The feeling of things meant for each other and being part of an intended context in both shape and function. Small and big parts are connected and with equal importance for the final balance.
SUSTAINABILITY
We approach Sustainability as a part of human life cycle. The modules designed by Njordrum are build and designed in organic materials like wood, which in terms of resource and degradation is the most responsible building material. The architect-designed modules are also placed directly on point foundations, which require far fewer resources than a solid foundation. At the same time, this method means that the home is movable, and therefor can follow you and your needs over time.
