Hongkong Land Chongqing Yorkshire Complex is located in Chongqing, the central city of southwest China. The Project covers a total floor area of 420,000sqm, including 170,000sqm concentrated business area. Shopping mall, open blocks and public space are fully combined, to set shopping, catering, entertainment, and community park in one.

China is experiencing fast urbanization as never before. Soaring urban expansion and the extensive development of “economic development at the cost of environment” in the past cause severe environmental problems in cities, especially air pollution and dust. Citizens are increasingly concerning PM2.5 and eager to restore the fresh and green natural environment.

How to make citizens feel the green and natural living and social space at the same time of enjoying modern city services?

PHA design team proposes a design concept of “city-nature community business” in an innovative way, to integrate natural ecology into commercial experience.

Such new technologies as sunshade curtain wall with light-changing glass, intelligent constant temperature system, air purification and water-cycling systems are applied to build a 6,000m2 indoor botanical garden at the core atrium of the mall. With almost 25m fallsview, about 100 natural plants, and 42m vegetation dome, the Project builds a green lung in the city.

The design of the shopping center reflects the concerns on environmental pollution, air quality, and PM2.5, provides solutions for public health, builds a fresh and natural shopping space for community residents, and increases the overall business value of the Project.
