Wuxiang Lantingfu is a property co-developed by Shimao, Dynasty and Yango. Located in Wuxiang New District, Guangxi, China, the project, i.e. the sales center, is given connotations via its external shape, which incorporates local landscape, with layers of hills as form, water as spirit. Taking cues from traditional Chinese academies, it is given a serene, peaceful, and otherworldly atmosphere. With the impression of hills and water, and interfaces like walls of traditional academies of classic learning, it seems that anything unrelated to culture is barricaded outside the building. Its architectural form resembles hill ranges, giving a visual effect of stretching to both sides. The design subtly utilizes lighting to reflect the façade block and the contours of mountains, and illuminate the building at night as if it’s in a landscape painting.
Functional spaces of the sales center are intertwined, featuring the alternation between interior space and courtyard. Some are wide open, others secluded and tranquil. The circulation is like flowing water, open, free, active and lively. The building is a perfect creation of spiritual home and paradise.
The façade adopts a gradual change in texture, like rippling waves in the light and shadows, which creates a wonderful and striking view.
The core entrance area has a pergola-like roof, matched with hollowed-out curtain-shaped structures, which are firm, subtle, and elegant. The entire building has two pitched roofs, which are staggered in positions. The ground is complemented by boundless water, and the façade is decorated with abstract elements of ripples.
