Situated on the ground level of an existing office building, the concept for Delarive Headquarters - Montalba Architects is a ‘building within a building’. The long, narrow, linear space required a concept that would allow for flexible working conditions in a relatively narrow footprint. The boundaries of the small space are softened and blurred with the use of materials; a continuous wooden floor delineates a fluid movement. The various spaces are able to adapt to the working needs of different groups by allowing for the flexibility of size and privacy.
Located on the second of the four towers of the "Elemento" building, Johnson and Johnson Colombia - Design and Construction created collaborative spaces and offices made to fit on floors 3 to 11 of an 18-story building. The concept of the project is based on the origins of Latin America specifically ethnic cultures and the goal was to highlight them through ethnic accents within a space that could become an icon not only for Colombia but for the Latin American region.
The AD Architecture Office - Penetrating Perception, Concealing Power - AD Architecture project is located in a creative park renovated from an old factory in Shantou. The original structure of the building itself was preserved, hence the design made use of the 5 metre high space. In order to pursue the sense of scale brought by large space, the designer abandoned excessive partitions and adornments, and naturally extended the fusion of original space and new force through the composition of materials.While satisfying the functional needs in the office, the designer also added some bold spaces where people can think quietly, so the space constantly interacts with people.
The design for the Salt - Form4 Architecture project is inspired by the past, present, and future of the San Francisco Bay. With 8,000 acres along the bay devoted to salt evaporation ponds, they are part of the National Wildlife Refuge, providing habitat for more than 70 species of birds. Intrigued by the history and characteristics of the sea salt works in the bay, including the bright colors from the salinity levels and micro-organisms in the ponds, the design creates a journey that highlights changes in the bay over the last 200 years and celebrates the Bay itself.
