Emerging Interiors Practice of the Year

Breakthrough practices of 2019

The ones to watch: these emerging interiors practices reflect on their progress during 2019.

by Emilia Nuzzaci 12 August 2019 2019

Story-tellers of space, Spacemen is a multidisciplinary design practise based in Shanghai. Established in 2014 by Edward Tan, the studio specialises in building brand architecture that seizes client’s primary strategies and ideologies to transform into unique spatial experiences. Driven by curiosity the studio is constantly looking to redefine the boundaries of design by exploring new materials and developing new design narratives.

INK interior architects is a practise led by Dana Vuletic, focusing on high end retail and hospitality interiors. The success of INK’s projects is attributed to a clear brief, an honest palette and refined detail. Each design solution is responsive to a client’s brief, budget and site conditions which allows diversity across the portfolio of work.

Since founding in 2016 there has been steady growth for studioshaw in turnover, project delivery client base and profile for Projects for Emerging Interiors Practice of the Year - studioshaw. Studioshaw expanded their company and also won 3 significant commissions which allowed the practice to grow and develop significantly. Their HB Reavis project was won in an open competition and resulted in the largest fee earning project for us to date.

The Stella Collective / cross section of work  is a global interior practice based in Melbourne, Australia led by award winning interior designer Hana Hakim. Their studio celebrates interior experiences that understand how humans work, eat and play. Striving to create exceptional world-class interiors that bring people together, their designs have a timeless quality that touches the human core.
