Nanchang Waves - Nordic is a landscape-based community centre forming the heart of a large residential development. The concept was to bring the qualities of the adjacent wetland park into the development and make a public arena for interaction within the framework of a "natural" setting. The architecture uses the site twice by making the roof a usable space, creating arenas for events and local programs. The double helix structure gives a 360 degree overview of the neighbourhood and strengthens the connection with the wetland.
Looking to move away from the traditional fabric of horizontal family homes, the Ningbo Creative Ports - One Design project seeks to maximize the slenderness of the volume and highlight the skyscrapers of São Paulo. The main openings of the houses aim to mitigate the intense Brazilian solar radiation, while the most exposed façades are solved with a predominance of an opaque protected surface. The combination of colours seeks the chromatic individualization of each level, as well as the research of singularity that provides the differential qualitative value sought out by the client, who specifically wanted a colourful tower.
