Like the expressive form, the selection of materials is of the earth – stone, steel, timber and glass, which is repeated throughout in subtle colours and finishes. With great care, the landscape is regenerating indigenous flora to seamlessly connect with the wilderness.

The Residential Complex for Indian Institute of Technology campus comprises of multi-storied residential buildings for faculty & staff housing. It also includes residence for the Institute’s Director, a club,guest house, medical centre, shopping centre, community halls, creche and campus school. The total built-up area is 112, 000 sq.m., estimated to cost $65 million, designed over a site area of about 43 acres.
The complex has been conceived as a waterfront development, with housing units placed along the promenade around a man-made body of water. The shaded promenade along the water provides relief as well as an oasis-like landscape. The scale of the water has been kept such that the distances between buildings are reasonable, thereby minimising infrastructure costs and amenities remaining within easy walking distance.
