Polish based interior design and architecture firm celebrate finishing YUG restaurant and Gagarin Apartments

by Georgina Johnston 28 January 2020

New restaurant YUG

The restaurant is segmented into four major areas, an open kitchen with an atrium area, fireplace room, banquet hall, and sea view terrace; most of the furniture, lighting fixtures and chandeliers were designed specifically for this project. The attention to detail makes this project stand out. Each area has a unique design future and mood. Floor plans were designed as an open space with intuitive interconnected passages. Though the restaurant was designed with a distinctive style as a whole, each space has its unique identity and feature.

This design may be described as a “form follows function”, as a celebration of open space and volume. The balance of open space and zoning creates a unique mood of volumetric and yet an intimate space. All natural choice of materials gave this space a finishing coat.

Gagarin Apartments

A sea view apartment with artistic decoration and soul. An open space floor plan with maximum transparently was the fundamental idea in designing this space. Everything was oriented towards the view, down to glass walls in the bedroom.

Though materials were selected in a minimalistic approach, there are prominent details to provide depth and perspective to this space; glass, wood and exposed concrete with colour touch as primer materials and weathered brass.

The dark ceiling gives unique space experience as apparently it dissolves visually for inhabitants after having spent some time in the apartment; allegedly the brain interprets it as a night sky. Therefore, in fact the dark ceiling offers a more perceived height. All metal detailing was designed in-house and made specifically for this apartment.

Both Projects completed by BOOM Architects.
