This project is located in a coastal city, surrounded by mountains and rivers. The client hoped that this beautiful, unique scene and cozy local lifestyle could be considered in the design.
The designers observed the space with dialectical mind and searched for notions and elements to translate the characteristics of site background and depict the lifestyle of the locals. Designers selected dark wood and natural stone as the main material, with the metal hardware to bring a touch of fashion and mystery into the spacious building.
The corrugated chandelier above the sand table implies ripples on the water and the mansard aluminum plate of the ceiling reflects the graceful gesture of mountains. The winding stair steps of the reading space indicates the profile of the mountains and also creates space for exhibitions and reading parties.
Through flexible use of texture, figures and colors, the designers created a cozy space of humanistic care.
