2020 WIN Awards entry: GTR & Teleport Office - ELTO

GTR & Teleport Office by ELTO is an entry in the Category Studios, co-working spaces and home office of the 2020 WIN Awards

The co-working space for GTR (Ground Team Red) and Teleport is located at an old airport terminal at Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia.

Both of the clients think it should simply work, like magic. Therefore, ELTO hopes to create an office that is connecting people and their ambition and imagination at work. To strike a balance in the overall setting, we also use iron plates, rivets, concrete paint, and concrete flooring to enhance this old terminal space. For both the entrances for two companies, we stack multiple layers of panels to form a tunnel-like architrave that leads into each workspace. It gives a courage to 'fly' high in this open, trusted, diversified, and energetic experimental journey.

When people walk around the space on the runway under the light strips, it encourages them to move forward as if a plane is taking-off. This clear directional track is the emotional intention to increase velocity and to gather momentum with high efficiency at work.

In the open area, the walkway is a runway leading to a dimensional printing of a hole to the universe. This somewhat bizarre arrangement creates a sense of humor against the supposedly harsh and serious environment, allowing people to spend time freely and comfortably on their daily tasks. The office area and the shared recreation area are divided with a row of perforated panels. The perforated panels are good to make the space more open but also to give a sense of privacy for the workers.
