ISLA DE LA TOJA by Morph Estudio is an entry in the Residential Category of the 2020 WAN Awards

by Copy taken from 2020 entry 02 June 2020 2020

Isla de la Toja is a unique project made up of three blocks of homes, designed for Gestilar, one of the largest construction companies.

The project was completed in 2019 developing more than 40,000 sq m in which architecture has been closely involved to the design of the great void that is generated around the three blocks of homes; Connecting the outside through the large separations between building, the common areas can convey to the user the feeling of enjoying nature and the outdoors through the project, offering a parametric design which makes an attractive and unique image with pieces that transform from a bench to a light fixture like M. Jackson in the Billie Jean video.

At the same time, the architecture dialogues with this large space and the exterior, through the creation of light, daring volumes, full of energy and without any apparent repetition, thus adapting to the dynamic society that governs the present. Isla de la Toja has an A energy certification, located at the top of the energy ranking, which represents a great reduction in energy consumption. The houses are equipped with an air conditioning system and sanitary hot water powered by renewable energy.

In this way, the project combines the best available technologies in favor of preserving the environment and maximum comfort for users, who, through its large covered terraces, can introduce all that nature into the interior of their homes.
