The project entails the development of offices for the Directorate of Public Prosecution (NPA) in the city of Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. The proposed accommodation comprises offices, with support space for state advocates for the Pietermaritzburg district as well as Regional Management and archive facilities. In addition, an existing structure has been renovated for 3 levels of on-site parking and secure access to the building.
The NPA plays a crucial role in addressing corruption in South Africa, which has intensified over the past decade.
The building makes use of a limited budget yet strives to achieve architectural quality within the confines of limited resources and add value to the revitalisation of the urban fabric of a developing city.
