Completed in June 2019, our modern workspace acts as a creative platform, enabling each and everyone within the space to feel empowered. Qualitative feedback was paired with quantitative data gathered during the utilisation studies of the existing work areas. The study examined utilisation rates of workstations and meeting rooms, the frequency of activities such as focus work, conference calls, collaboration and peak dates and times for meeting room demand. The analysis went beyond design predisposition to examine the science of circulation and modern working practices.
Selecting materials for their tactile qualities, materials which convey a sense of ageing, featuring a more human quality, also represented a priority. This as natural materials warm up the space and bring that biophilic touch fundamental to help improve productivity and cognition.
The workplace research conducted helped project future trends that may affect change throughout the duration of the new occupancy. As such, the 5,021 sm space has been designed to incorporate a high percentage of unassigned seating, with focus given to provide a choice of where to work. Finally, we wanted to create a more active and transparent façade that would bring the inside outside to ensure that our presence in the area was complementary and enhanced the existing environment.
Last year more than 40 countries took part in the WIN Awards with strong showings from Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. And we saw some truly outstanding interior designs, take a look at the winners from last year here.
