Distinctive geometric interiors and gemstones influence for Annoushka HK store

British jewellery designer Annoushka Ducas’ new boutique in Hong Kong’s IFC mall marks the brand’s 10th anniversary

by Alison Carter 10 August 2020

The striking space in soft golden hues showcases the iconic collection of limited edition and guest designer jewellery.

The boutique, over 400 sq ft on one level, is Annoushka’s second in Asia designed by Atelier Pacific, and features distinctive geometric interiors influenced by a fascination with gemstones - specifically South Sea pearls, diamonds, tourmalines and citrine, and their refraction of light.

Conceived as a unique space that subverts the monolithic tendency of luxury retail landscapes, the store layout serves to accentuate the journey of discovery for clients.

Delicate colours and materials build layers of dimensionality and subtle avant-garde detailing into the design, highlighting each piece of jewellery from every angle.

The craftsmanship that underlies Annoushka’s sculptural masterpieces, which are often inspired by nature and raw materials, is reflected by mirrored cabinets and counters in silver-grey Omani marble with exquisite fine veining and unexpected patterns. Contrasting light-grey powder-coated wood, satin and velvet and metallic surfaces such as champagne brass blur the line between contemporary art and craft: balancing juxtapositions to create a playful, fluid dialogue between tactility and textures.

Custom design lighting and a plush inlaid carpet on an elegant timber floor encourage an intimate, comforting and immersive customer experience, especially in the chic VIP consultation area.
