Aedas praised for Xi’an city's urban oasis

Xi’an Nan-Fei-Hong Phase 2 Development in China, by Aedas, has been commended for the RLI Future Project at Global RLI Awards 2020

by Georgina Johnston 17 November 2020

Designed by Global Design Principal Christine Lam and David Clayton, Xi’an Nan-Fei-Hong Phase 2 is a mixed use development located to the south of the ancient Xi’an city. The project comprises two millennia Grade A office towers with a five star hotel, connected by a large scale shopping mall. An urban oasis is visualised by integrating natural rhythm into the urban fabric and introducing a layered vertical green experience at the podium. The design language also extends to the elegant cylindrical form of the office towers conceptualised as the city of flower and is fused with the seasonal themed gardens at the podium to enrich the garden city theme. The biophilic design and expressive use of colours contrast Xi’an’s dour and monochrome urban image, creating a benchmark of experiential retail and lifestyle destination.
