Zooco Estudio serve up Pan de Cuco on the plates of Santander

Located in Spain’s Cantabrian, the restaurant celebrates modern cuisine in a rural setting

by Georgina Johnston 01 March 2021

The project aims to reflect the essence of the Suesa site faithfully by using materials that are both simple and traditional but that have been used clearly and firmly, thus developing an unexpected value through the design.

Given the morphology of the premises, there are three very different areas that have been connected strategically to each other, and each with its own and distinctive character.

The evident and marked segregation of the different areas assigned for the enjoyment of users (bar with view kitchen, dining room and terrace) in combination with the multiple visual connections that exist between them. This situation generates a peculiar experience, because each time a guest is located in one area, the focus of attention is manifested toward the room adjacent.
