Turkey’s Pera Gümüşlük Residences by Quark Studio Architects

Contemporary design concept fosters a peaceful atmosphere that unites exquisite outdoor areas with furnished home interiors creating a consistent aesthetic idiom, transitioning between internal and external environments in a minimalist and eco-aware design project

by Georgina Johnston 09 April 2021

The 64-key residential development sits adjacent to the Aegean Sea and is separated from it only by an exclusive private beach. Quark Studio Architect’s (QSA) design concept for these luxury residences rests on the consistent use of brilliantly white surfaces, walls and ceilings to showcase carefully chosen custom furniture pieces, accent items and indulgent furnishings that anchor the space firmly within a simultaneously contemporary and comfortable aesthetic. This clean white background allows the eye and attention to wander freely between the numerous visual pleasures of statement pieces, strategic dark oak paneling and wooden claddings, not to mention the stunning views of the Aegean seaside.

The Pera development features locally-sourced white marble floorings and Bodrum-style white ceilings that emphasise the home’s contemporary lines. Wooden details set off against cantilevered walls creates an enchanting chiaroscuro effect, a quiet dance of light and shadow bringing nature’s rhythms directly into a carefully curated residential space. The play of light and dark so central to QSA’s design concept for the Pera Gümüşlük Residences is reinforced by the way that multiple sources of water, whether from the turquoise tiled pool belonging to the social area or from the sparkling sea below, dapple the interior with gently undulating shadows.

In addition to visiting the Pera Gümüşlük site’s private access beach, guests and residents can enjoy the breezy Bodrum summer from the comfort of their own patios, balconies and terraces, which are flexibly furnished for activities ranging from poolside relaxation to formal dinner parties.
