Multi Use

Suttonca to transform Stratford’s post-Olympic complex into a mixed use community

The East London scheme, which will be located adjacent to Stratford International Station, South of East Village, has been given the green light by the London Legacy Development Corporation

by Georgina Johnston 17 September 2021 Future Projects

Designed for residential developer Telford Homes Plc and housing association Notting Hill Genesis, it will include widening of the pavements along International Way with a new tree-lined boulevard, 6,700 sq ft of retail within brick arches, 16,000 sq ft of unique office space and 380 new homes with access to a range of garden and terrace spaces.

Inspired by the boldness of Victorian railway engineering, the proposal comprises three robust brick volumes; a podium and two 27 storey towers. The podium base conceals and viaducts over the retained infrastructure, including TFL bus layover and the International Station future expansion zone, to present a coherent and active facade along international way.

The rigorous and highly articulated elevations of the towers acknowledge the industrial heritage of the site and offer residents undisturbed views of The City and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Planning permission was granted to the scheme in July 2020.
