Residential Developments (Apartments)

Goddard Littlefair designs four modern schemes for Belgravia Living at Chelsea Barracks

Chelsea Barracks, a development by Qatari Diar, has launched a collection of four new apartments located at Whistler Square

by Nav Pal 28 June 2022 Surfaces

The collection comprises three duplex apartments and one lateral apartment named the Bicameral Apartment, due to its position overlooking Chelsea Barracks’ Bicameral sculpture designed by Conrad Shawcross. The studio designed each residence to offer a unique aesthetic.

The Bicameral apartment is the only lateral apartment within the collection, offering two bedrooms complete with en-suite bathrooms. This apartment will appeal to an art or design enthusiast; with high-end interiors and views of the Bicameral sculpture through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Marble flooring with an inset contrasting border creates a statement and grand entrance hall, housing storage with bespoke wooden cabinetry. Throughout the apartment’s high-quality finishes, an English herringbone design has been chosen for the living and dining area, kitchen and primary bedroom to elevate the space. The primary bathroom is finished with natural vein matched marble floors and a contrasting marble inset border.

The monochromatic scheme is complemented with veneered vanity units with marble countertops and a curved statement freestanding bathtub. The apartment’s warm and neutral colour palette is juxtaposed with finishings of bouclé and leathers, achieving a sense of comfort, space and authenticity. Bespoke upholstery and cabinetry pieces have been introduced by the studio whilst artwork has been especially commissioned, completely unique to the property.

The three duplex apartments offer private outdoor courtyard spaces on both ground and lower levels, a rare offering in Belgravia. Providing open plan living and dining areas, the three apartments boast views over the development’s gardens and wider Belgravia, including Chelsea Barracks’ eco-corridor Bourne Walk and the historic Royal Hospital.

Upon entering, guests and residents are met by a communal hallway incorporating panelled stone walls, illuminated ceiling coffers and limestone floor with bronze inlaid detailing and contrast marble inset borders. All bathrooms offer high-quality finishes with guest bathrooms and en-suites housing natural stone floors, marble showers and bath areas. Guest bedrooms and principal suites are finished with premium carpets and marble flooring.
