The 268m high-rise tower will be part of an 11,450 sq m waterfront leisure and entertainment complex. The area features exhibition, residential, retail and education facilities and is in close proximity to the local transportation hubs. It also serves as a focal point of the city due to its location at the convergence of several waterways.
This structure is the highest point in the area and offers a view of the city and surrounding area as well as sights of the coast and local area. Utilising four fillet corners ensures that sightlines can extend further.
Using shifting aluminium cladding creates contouring lines across the façade and a reduction of floor area within the middle zone maintains an elegant identity for the building.
Inspired by local dragon dance rituals to pray for blessings and rain, the tower is styled to resemble a dragon ascending from the sea. This resonates with the nearby cultural centre.
The design of the high-rise tower is a natural response to both the surrounding environment and the local culture. The dragon motif is drawn not only for its connotation of auspiciousness and agility, but also from the maritime culture specific to this location and the local communities.
