LCH Developments bring the modern office experience to Scarborough in Ontario, Canada

‘Merge Spaces’ is created in partnership with RAW Design to support creators and growing businesses

by Séan Thurgood 12 October 2022

A vibrant new working space offers a social experience for entrepreneurs. The office features private spaces, presentation and event areas, dedicated desk, soundproof booths, a games/lounge room and a fully stocked café to cover all the needs of a new and growing business.

The office offers two floors of communal spaces and collaborative workstations that are connected by colourful murals to create an animated space that encourages and supports networking. The Treehouse presentation space can hold up to 150 people and features a large television and podium, and the acoustics are enhanced by the two-storey live moss wall.

Our world has changed and the concept of a static office for the workforce doesn’t make sense anymore. This will be a dynamic environment where freelancers, creatives, entrepreneurs, and all kinds of professionals can connect, build relationships, and bring their best selves to work.

The colour scheme throughout is a bright magenta to encourage a creative and vibrant energy within the space. Each office features transparent glass doors and windows to allow natural light in while also maintaining privacy. The various sizes of offices ensure that there is space to accommodate a range of teams, and many feature less formal seating arrangements to suit different working styles.

Toronto muralist Mel Coleman and Colombian-born Cesar Rodriguez adorn the wall spaces with 12 graffiti-style art pieces which explore different ideas and themes that are local to Scarborough. Each features a glow in the dark element to add more visual interest during evening events.
