Metaverse Architecture Biennale (MAB), "Presence of the Future", to take place next month

Fancy visiting an architecture festival inspired by the Venice Biennale from the comfort of your desk? The Metaverse Architecture Biennale is taking place from September 21-24.

by Staff writer 30 August 2023

Inspired by the Italian architecture festival, the free online event will showcase virtual pavilions and worlds created by top architects, featuring digital designs from names including Killa Design, LAVA, PLP, ATRIUM, Soomeen Hahm, Spaces DAO, DA!, Il Prisma, SA lab, iheartblob, Mariana Cabugueira Studios, Illusorr and Drew Gilbert.

Two metaverse platforms – Decentraland and W3rlds, will serve as venues, creating an immersive experience for attendees who will be able to explore virtual pavilions, engage in interactive exhibits and connect with a global community of creators. Visitors will also have a chance to participate in cultural and entertainment events, lectures and public talks.

"We aim to redefine the role of architecture and design in shaping the future of the Metaverse. We truly believe that architecture will play an integral part in the creation of the Metaverse, as graphic design played in shaping the internet we use today," said Sergey Nadtochiy, co-organizer and curator of MAB.
