Now in their 17th year, the global WAN Awards are intended to celebrate outstanding architecture on an international scale. Get started on your entry today and take advantage of the last five weeks of discounted early bird entry which finishes on 27 June.

Every project entered in the WAN Awards is assessed by an expert panel of senior industry judges from across the world. Tom Chung is principal at United States-based architects Leers Weinzapfel Associates. A leader in the practice and education of mass timber design, he has worked closely with researchers, engineers and fabricators to gain mastery over this new technology. His recent projects offer pioneering examples of mass timber architecture - the John W. Olver Design Building at University of Massachusetts Amherst and Adohi Hall at University of Arkansas. He encourages WAN Award entrants to “be succinct, clear and let the work (photos and diagrams) speak for the project”.

Christos Passas is Design Director at Zaha Hadid Associates. An architect, designer, urban planner and academician with over 25 of international experience, he considers the WAN Awards a great chance to come together and to share ideas, insights and experiences and urges WAN Award entrants to “be brave to defend your ideas!”

Tiago Sa is principal of Portugese practice sastudio which he founded in 2018. Operating at the intersection of the architecture realm with social entrepreneurship, his recent projects include the sustainably design Gardabaer Kindergarten in Iceland and the innovative Leidarhofdi Community Center which features a green roof and flexible layout, also in Iceland. Prior to founding his practice, Tiago worked at BIG| Bjarke Ingels Group and led the teams for housing projects in Toronto and Zurich; a station, bridge and public space in Paris, 'Gare Pont de Bondy'; and the concept design of 'Noma' restaurant in Copenhagen.  He tells entrants “be clear when communicating your project intent and overarching concept.”
