Now in their 17th year, the global WAN Awards are intended to celebrate outstanding architecture on an international scale. Get started on your entry today and take advantage of the last two weeks of discounted early bird entry.

Every project entered in the WAN Awards is assessed by an expert panel of senior industry judges from across the world.

Simon Chua, co-founder and executive director of Lead8 (pictured above left) has extensive experience in international design projects, working predominantly in Asia, mainland China and Hong Kong on major complex and mixed-use projects. His recent projects include ION Orchard in Singapore, ICC and iAPM in Shanghai, One Bangkok and Taipei iFG. He currently focuses on transport and entertainment-led, mixed-use developments, including two major transit-oriented developments in Shanghai for Sun Hung Kai Properties.

Simon is looking for “detailed, good images, good story telling, projects' functionality, sustainability and aesthetics” among the entries this year.

Pawel Nawojczyk (pictured above right) is director of architecture at London-based SHH Architecture & Interiors where he specialises in high-end residential new-build houses and refurbishment projects. His recent projects include a luxury North London eco-home as well as country estates in the surrounding counties and prime properties in Dubai and Bahrain.

He is looking for “holistically thought through, good quality and functional design” among the entries.

“This will address the undertaking in a complex manner, supporting the success of the project and its longevity. Aesthetics, functionality, maintenance and durability, sustainability are intertwined and need to be considered as a whole,” he says.

Li Fu, co-founder of Beijing PRO Lighting Design Co., Ltd (pictured above centre) is also a new addition to the 2024  WAN Awards judging panel.

Li is keen to see design that “reflects people's lifestyles and creates spaces that are conducive to interaction with nature”.

“Design is about solving the problems we encounter in our lives,” says Li.
