AI Showroom, HASTINGS Architecture

This project has been shortlisted in the Independent Shops & Small Chains category of the WIN Awards 2024

Project: AI Showroom
Award: Retail & Consumer Design Interiors - Independent Shops & Small Chains, 2024
Location: Nashville, United States
Design Practice: HASTINGS Architecture
Client:
AI Corporate Interiors

The AI Showroom is a thoughtfully designed showcase of furniture, design and hospitality by HASTINGS Architecture. Nestled within Peabody Plaza in downtown Nashville, the 525 square metre space overcomes architectural challenges through the artful use of scale and material.

Visitors are welcomed by a cosy compressed entry clad in warm wood tones that prepares them for the reveal of a luminous double-height space beyond. Here, curved walls and arching elements lend softness and grace to the industrial bones of the building. Workstations and meeting spaces flow organically throughout the large, open floorplan, demonstrating AI’s products while supporting the employees in their work. Glass partitions and demountable displays invite exploration of innovative furniture solutions.

Design highlights

Various intimate seating areas provide respite, allowing visitors to linger amidst AI’s curated collections. Four private offices, each with their own character and aesthetic, provide glimpses into different approaches to interior design. The details have been considered with care, from the warm wood tones to the sculptural cafe serving as the social heart.

"More than a showroom, the space is a destination for inspiration, bringing together different disciplines of design through its museum-like presentation of all that AI offers. It achieves the goal of both functionality and beauty, reflecting the company’s mission to make design matter through quality of experience. The AI Showroom invites clients and visitors to immerse themselves in the art of furniture, architecture, and hospitality," HASTINGS Architecture said.
