OUTIN.Design’s scheme for The Goldin Jewellery flagship store in Hangzhou highlights the craftsmanship of gemstones in a visually stunning and engaging design with pure geometric lines that link to the carving process of natural stones.
Located on the bustling Qiafengli Alley, the store is intended to embrace the unique cultural atmosphere and artistic ambience of the surrounding old city district. The design incorporates winding and exploratory walk-in spaces that inspire curiosity and a sense of adventure. This meticulous attention to lines extends seamlessly into the interior, resulting in an open and inviting showcase environment.
Taking cues from museum exhibition design, the store ingeniously combines curved columns with fan-shaped display cabinets, resulting in an enclosed jewellery showcase area, while still allowing unrestricted movement and exploration within the space.
Design highlights
The design skillfully utilizes a wide range of raw materials. The predominant use of natural cave stones and textured coatings on the walls creates a visually striking effect. The architectural elements, intentionally left with natural cavities or artisanal marks, add a touch of authenticity. Additionally, the incorporation of materials such as reddish-brown wood grain and brass metal textures add depth and richness to the colour palette.
To preserve the cohesive ambiance of the entire space, the design ingeniously incorporates elements of medieval architecture into the core installations.
