The WIN Awards has been championing the best in global interior design for 14 years. Following the unveiling of 106 shortlisted finalists, selected across more than 20 categories, winners of the 2024 WIN Awards will be announced from November 14th onwards. In the meantime, Chair of Judges Christopher Lye (pictured below), has reflected on the impressive range and high standard of this year’s entries, revealing "there has been a good range of quality projects being judged this year”.

The Woods Bagot principal and retail sector lead of its Hong Kong Studio, was pleased to see that while design firms provided a plethora of beautiful interior schemes, they also went beyond the surface to create projects that provided thoughtful and in-depth design solutions.

“Most entries this year had integrated designs that were more than just pure interior aesthetics. Some integrated with the highest level of lighting, landscape and preservation solutions,” he said.

He noted that most projects also prioritised the all important experience of the end-users of the finished designs.

“It was pleasing to see that most entries had put serious considerations into the overall function zoning and layout planning. The end user experience was placed as one of the key criteria during the design process and outcome,” he said.

He added: “It was also good to see smaller scale community centre projects from NGOs, which have really put thought and consideration in to how locals will be using the building from an end-user point of view.”

The WIN Awards bulletin will offer further shortlist highlights over the coming weeks, in the lead up to the winner announcements next month.
